A facelifted version of the Ford Focus ST will make its global debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Friday June 27.
Ford has issued the first teaser image and video (below) for the new Focus ST. The new performance model will participate in the 'First Glance' category, with professional drivers driving it on the West Sussex hill climb on all three days.
The new car – which will be available for the first time in diesel-powered version – also will be displayed on the Ford stand at the Festival of Speed.
The Focus ST gets the the technology and quality improvements revealed earlier this year for the new Ford Focus, which include four re-tooled body panels, revised front and rear bumpers, new front and rear lights and a new dashboard. Read about our development ride in the new Ford Focus here.
The standard Focus variants also underwent chassis changes, although Ford hasn't confirmed whether the Focus ST's chassis will be tweaked. Additionally, there's no official word on whether the current version's 247bhp, 2.0-litre four-pot engine will be given a power boost.
Also starring at Goodwood will be the all-new Ford Mustang that makes its first UK appearance. A 5.0-litre V8 Fastback will take part in the Supercar class, while a Mustang convertible will be on static display at the manufacturer's stand.
Ford also is teaming up with Sony Computer Entertainment to stage a 'virtual versus real' race on the hill climb. On its first run each day, the new Focus ST will compete in real time against the Focus ST featured in the Gran Turismo 6 game for PlayStation 3.
