Bentley's long-awaited SUV will cost upwards of £130,000 when it goes on sale in two years' time.
Speaking to Autocar at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Bentley boss Wolfgang Dürheimer confirmed a price point above the £130k mark would sit well above current luxury SUV offerings from the likes of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Land Rover.
"All of the current luxury SUVs, the BMW X5s, the AMG-powered Mercedes, the Range Rovers, they all end at around €160,000 (£128,208)," he said. "We aim to solve this problem".
Previously it was thought that pricing for the new model would start at around £200,000 – a point also mooted for Rolls-Royce's own luxury SUV model.
However, the price of Bentley's SUV is not likely to eclipse the £228,200 currently asked for the Mulsanne, as Bentley still wants to keep that as its halo model.
The Bentley SUV, for which the Crewe-based manufacturer is said to be targeting a top speed of 200mph, has been seen testing in production bodywork recently and also features the same digital dashboard display as the third-generation Audi TT.
