Ariel reveals police-liveried Atom 3.5R as part of safety campaign, Lamborghini Huracan-based racer in development, VW delivers the first of 250 XL1sAriel has revealed a bespoke police-liveried version of its Atom 3.5R. Created in partnership with Avon and Somerset police, the car – dubbed PL1 – is part of a new motorcycle safety campaign. This 3.5R is powered by a 350bhp Honda engine and has been upgraded with police lights and emergency equipment.
Lamborghini has confirmed that a Super Trofeo racing version of the new Huracan is under development, and will replace the current Gallardo in its one-make racing series in Europe, Asia and North America. The Huracan's 5.2-litre V10 engine is likely to be retained.
Volkswagen has delivered the first of a planned run of 250 XL1 cars to a customer in Germany. Billed as the world's most efficient car, the €110,000 (around £89,350) XL1 can reportedly achieve up to 313.8mpg, with an electric-only range of 31 miles.
