The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power has opened its doors to the public for 2014, and already the event which aims to showcase power in all its forms is in full swing.
It's a glorious day here in the grounds of Cholmondeley Castle, and throughout today and over the coming weekend there'll be racers on both two and four wheels taking to the 1.2-mile circuit to thrill the crowds.
There's a strong showing from several manufacturers including Ford, Vauxhall, BMW and Maserati - which is celebrating its centenary at the event this weekend. That means a special outing for the 1959 Maserati Birdcage, which has amassed a plentiful collection of trophies from circuits including Spa, Silverstone and the Nürburgring in its racing career.
There'll also be custom-built racers, go-karts, Le Mans classics, sports cars and supercars taking to the Cholmondeley track, as well as the 24.0-litre Napier Bentley and the massive 42.0-litre Packard Bentley aero-engined cars.
Autocar's supercar paddock contains the latest and greatest models from a variety of manufacturers, and yesterday we helped to kick-off proceedings in style with a unique 'noise-off' tunnel run event through the Kingsway tunnel near Birkenhead.
It's certainly shaping up to be a varied and exciting few days. To read Autocar's full preview, click here.
