The new Lexus NX crossover has gone on sale, priced from £29,495.
The NX, the first mid-size crossover to come from Lexus, was shown in production-ready form at the Beijing motor show earlier this year. Set to face off against the likes of the Audi Q5 and BMW X3, order books have opened today with first deliveries expected in October.
Only the fully hybrid NX300h is available initially, with the NX200t - which comes with a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine - arriving next year. No sale date has yet been set for the NX200, which comes with a naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre engine.
Most models will come with a choice of five trim levels, dubbed S, SE, Luxury F Sport and Premier, but all variants will feature adaptive cruise control and Lexus' pre-crash safety system as standard. Other standard equipment on the NX300h S include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, an infotainment system with DAB radio and selectable driving modes.
Various upgrade packages add luxuries like a wireless smartphone charger, powered tailgate, sunroof and adaptive suspension.
Prices start at £29,495 for the NX300h FWD in S trim, rising to £31,495 for SE and AWD versions, and on to £34,495 and £36,995 for Luxury and F Sport specifications respectively. The top-spec NX300h Premier AWD costs £42,995.
