A three-door variant will join the range of the new second-generation Hyundai i20 next year.
The Korean manufacturer has revealed a single sketch of the new body style, which it is calling the i20 coupé.
The sketch shows how the three-door i20 coupé will be differentiated from its five-door sibling. It features a more sharply raked roofline and a spoiler at the rear of the roof to enhance its sportier positioning compared to the more practical five-door.
Hyundai says the new variant “promises to combine driving fun, a distinctive character and sporty refinement, with the enhanced practicality and quality already previewed in its five-door sibling”.
Like the five-door version, the i20 coupĂ© was designed and developed at Hyundai’s European design centre in RĂĽsselsheim, Germany.
The three-door will go into production in February and is expect to reach market in March or April.
