From “The Epic Driftmob” to the “M4 Initiation” video, our friends over at BMW seem to have taken a liking to drifting videos lately—and really, who can blame them. Their latest video features the 2015 30 Jahre M5 driving around a soccer arena—mostly sideways, of course—to promote its arrival.
M5 enthusiasts may recall another BMW video celebrating the M5′s 30th birthday that appeared earlier this year, but unlike that video, this one is actually informative. In addition to seeing the 600-hp frozen silver bullet spew chunks of tire at the camera and hearing its twin-turbo V-8 sing at full wail, you can watch Tina Schmidt, product manager for BMW M Automobiles, discuss the car’s various features, at times in a full drift. The video also features some sexy car-porn footage of a red, first-generation E28 M5, which unfortunately remains static the entire time. You’ll also learn, if you didn’t know already, how to pronounce the phrase “30 Jahre M5”—which means “30 Year M5”—in its native tongue. Clue: it doesn’t sound like it looks to us Yanks.

The video is the latest in BMW’s ongoing celebration of the iconic supersedan, which is now in its fifth generation. We celebrate the car here, too, of course, in this generational overview, but if you just want to see the latest and greatest of them all in full glory, this latest video ought to do the trick.
