When driving on a race track, it’s wise to exercise plenty of caution and make sure that you don’t lose control and cause a nasty crash. Especially when it’s wet out and you’re on the Green Hell.
The Nurburgring is infamously demanding for both the car and driver, as we’ve seen over the years with plenty of epic crashes throughout its 13-mile stretch and long history. Recently, an earlier speed limit and testing ban was lifted following additional safety improvements. This most recent compilation includes various vehicles including race cars that may have just taken a corner a little too fast in the wet, went off track, or straight into a wall. Some cars, on the other hand, like that little Peugeot in the beginning of the video, look like a case of overconfidence combined with not knowing the car’s limits.
While a good portion of the video shows epic crashes, there are also some great saves. You can almost hear the sigh of relief after an E36 BMW 3 Series coupe escapes the dirt and the wall as it spun out of control, or when a Toyota 86 race car narrowly avoids getting hit by an oncoming vehicle.
