Two-tone paint jobs are a rarified thing outside of the automotive stratosphere. But you don’t have to go to the Bentley or Bugatti store if you want one, as the latest limited-edition “release series” Scion tC number—uh, which one are we up to now? oh yeah—9.0 is wearing a pretty rad one. While we hope we never see this black-over-Magma-orange combo on, say, a Rolls Phantom, it does look pretty good on the tC, especially combined with a Cartel Customs body kit and emblems, door handles, mirrors, a rear spoiler, and 18-inch wheels all rendered in gloss black. Other mods worth showing off include ride-lowering, powder-coated, orange TRD springs and a center-mounted TRD exhaust system.
The orange-and-black color scheme continues inside, of course, with most everything you can see or touch rendered in black, offset by splashes of orange on the steering wheel spokes, gauges rings, door handles, safety belts, and seat stitching. The tC Release 9.0 is a collaboration between Scion and Cartel Customs’ own Jeremy Lookofsky, whose signature can be found on the commemorative rearview mirror cap. Want to see more? Prices are set at $24,960 for the six-speed manual version and $25,110 if you want the paddle-shifted six-speed automatic. Scion says that all 2000 of them have been delivered to Scion dealerships nationwide, which makes this a, um, “full release” of sorts. So if you want in on this hot, orange-on-black action, hurry down to your local Scion dealer.
