Acura’s all-new 2015 TLX sedan replaces both the compact TSX and the mid-size TL in Acura’s lineup, and just-released introductory pricing shows that Acura wants to leave no customer unsatisfied when it launches the TLX in August. Pricing starts at $31,890 for the base front-wheel-drive TLX equipped with the 206-hp four-cylinder engine and new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which is just a smidge higher than the smaller 2014 TSX sedan. TLX models featuring Acura’s 290-hp V-6 and nine-speed automatic combo start at $36,115, or $810 cheaper than the least expensive 2014 TL.
For $4030 more, a Tech package heaps on additional goodies and brings the price to $35,920 for four-cylinder models or $40,145 for V-6 models; the loaded Advance package adds another $3250 to the bottom line of V-6 models thus equipped.
All-wheel drive is available for $2200 but only on V-6–powered models with the Technology or Advance packages. The most you can pay for the TLX, then, is $45,595, or $810 less than the $46,405 that Acura currently charges for the top-dog 2014 TL with the Advance package and all-wheel drive. So, effectively, the new TLX covers the pricing spread.
The pricing structure is part of the TLX Acura Advantage program, which runs through September 2, 2014, and also offers three-year leases starting at $299 per month for four-cylinder models and $349 per month for V-6 models, with $2499 down. Some customers will also be eligible for $500 toward the purchase of Acura accessories. Buyers must take delivery by October 31, 2014, in order to qualify for the benefits.

Smaller on the outside than the TL but with roughly the same interior space, we think the TLX is right-sized and could be the best-looking Acura sedan in years. We look forward to driving the new TLX at the end of this month to decide for ourselves whether its performance backs up its looks and its price.
