For a vehicle named after a tribe of Saharan nomads, the Volkswagen Touareg (pronounced “twar-egg”) hasn’t wandered far from the middle of the road. That’s been good business for VW, which says it has sold more than 720,000 copies of this mid-size SUV worldwide over 11 model years now, nearly 130,000 of them in the U.S. So VW didn’t see much need to go wandering off into the desert with this midterm update for 2015.
