Once, not so long ago, the Fiat brand offered a complete portfolio of vehicles, stretching from the tiny Cinquecento to upmarket sedans and sports cars. Each had its distinct character. But for some years now, virtually every new Fiat pretends to be an extension of the 500—which, at its core, is little more than a retro-bodied Panda.
