Like Ponce de Leon, Toyota’s Scion sub-brand is continually on the hunt for the fountain of youth. After collaborating with the fiftysomethings in Slayer on a tC for SEMA, Scion heads to Los Angeles with the iM concept. Given that there are plenty of folks pushing middle age who began using instant-messenger programs back in college, it seems as if Scion’s actually chasing Generation X.
But iM it is, and Scion’s pushed out a teaser on featuring the nose of the concept car partially obscured by a clapboard. Because, you know, it’s Los Angeles. The brief press release is worth reading, so we’ve helpfully reprinted it below.
Like any new star about to step out on the world stage in Los Angeles, Scion’s new iM Concept car is taking some test shots. The photos, also debuting on Instagram, reveal the distinctively sporty front end of the car as it gets ready for the spotlight. The iM Concept car reflects the evolution of Scion as the needs and desires of its youthful customers also evolve. Fans are encouraged to join the conversation at #iMDriven.

We’re pretty sure the needs of its youthful customers include student-loan debt relief and a healthy job market. And probably a Cannibal Corpse–themed FR-S. Actually, maybe we need a Cannibal Corpse-themed FR-S.
