As the first major motor show of the year, the Detroit motor show helps to set the tone for the rest of the motoring year.
If the 2015 event is anything to go by, then, the myriad of new car reveals and launches has set the year off to a flying start.
Headlining the show is the new Honda NSX, which is finally getting its global debut here after months of speculation. It's sold out even before making its grand entrance, and we expect the hybrid NSX - which combines a V6 petrol engine with three electric motors to produce around 400bhp - to live up to its hype.
The other big story here is Jaguar's SUV, or F-Pace as it will be known when it comes to market in 2016. The name of the firm's first ever SUV model was revealed on the eve before the show, with the model expected to carry the shape of the original C-X17 concept for production.
Also on display is Infiniti's Q60 concept, which previews a new sports coupé from the company. It's powered by a 3.0-litre V6 engine, the same one used in the Q80 Inspiration concept of last year. The Q80 has also helped to inform the Q60's styling, as well as the Q50 Eau Rouge.
Already revealed is Lexus' new BMW M5 fighter, the GS F. Featuring a 467bhp 5.0-litre V8 engine, the GS F will rival the likes of the Jaguar XFR-S and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG. Expect the GS F to cost around £80,000 when it arrives in the UK towards the end of 2015.
While we know many of the cars being shown here already, there are also a few mysteries left to solve. One is what car will be taking centre stage from Ford, although leaked show plans appear to confirm rumours of a Ford GT successor. Hyundai has also been quiet in the run up to the show, with a large SUV-like prototype spotted on the manufacturer's stand under wrapping.
Other vehicle debuts include the Mercedes GLE Coupé, the Volvo S60 Cross Country and Volkswagen's Cross Coupé GTE.
With the doors of the show now open, our team of roving reporters and photographers will be bringing you all of the latest news, gossip and pictures from the Detroit motor show, so stay tuned to this page.
