A few weeks ago, Chevy showed us a stripier side of the Silverado with its new 2015 Silverado Rally Edition models. This month, it’s the GMC Sierra’s turn to play dress-up in the form of three new Carbon Edition models, all of which are based on the Sierra 1500.
The standard Carbon Edition starts at $33,075—$1250 more than the base Sierra 1500 two-wheel-drive double cab. It wears a black-painted grille, body-color door handles and mirror caps, and most importantly, carbon-fiber-esque graphics on the raised hood sections and the tailgate. Some added features are included as well, such as remote keyless entry, a 110-volt power outlet, and LED cargo-box lighting.
The Sierra Carbon 20 Edition is offered only with the fancier SLE trim and in double-cab form, and includes the aforementioned niceties plus a set of 20-inch aluminum wheels, hence the “20” in the name. The price: $38,275.
The top-dawg Carbon 22 Edition model is also based on the SLE trim level and is available in both double- and crew-cab styles, adding tubular side rails, remote starting, fog lamps, a universal garage door opener, and dual-zone climate controls. All of this goodness rides on—you guessed it—22-inch wheels. Prices for the Carbon 22 Edition start at $42,270.

The standard engine for all Sierra Carbon Editions is GM’s direct-injected 285-hp 4.3-liter V-6, while a 355-hp 5.3-liter V-8 is optional. Customers can also have their Carbon Editions in four-wheel-drive form as well as two-wheel drive. Orders are being accepted now for double-cab models, while those desirous of a crew-cab version will have to wait until early October.
