The manufacturers behind the 15 best-selling vehicles in the U.S. each posted steady gains for 2015, making it another great year for auto sales. Once again, the Ford F-Series stole the show with the highest sales of any other vehicle in the U.S.
With the most recent win under its belt, the F-Series remains the best-selling vehicle in the U.S. for 34 years in a row. The truck tallied 780,354 sales in 2015, up from last year’s total of 753,851. To put that in perspective, Ford sold more F-Series trucks than its entire fleet of cars combined (including the Fiesta, Focus, C-Max, Fusion, Taurus, Police Interceptor, and Mustang). Same goes for its fleet of crossovers and SUVs.
Although it didn’t come close to matching Ford’s numbers, the Chevrolet Silverado still saw an impressive sales jump from the previous year. Chevrolet moved 600,544 of these trucks last year, up from 529,755 in 2014, putting the Silverado in second place. Coming in third was the Ram pickup, which ended the year at 451,116 units.
Outside the truck realm, the Toyota Camry dominated sales for 2015. It has been the best-selling car in the U.S. for 14 years straight now. Close behind was the Toyota Corolla followed by the Honda Accord, which saw a sizable drop in sales this year.
The Honda CR-V entered the fray as the top-selling crossover in 2015, taking its spot at No. 7 on the list. The Honda Civic, Nissan Altima, and Toyota RAV4 rounded out the top 10 vehicles.
