The new technology is based on the infotainment system Sensus in the Volvo XC90An update to the Volvo On Call app will enable drivers to control functions of their car from smartwatches by the end of June
An updated version of the Volvo On Call smartphone app will allow drivers to use wearable technology like the Apple Watch and Android Wear with their Volvo car by the end of June this year.
From their wrist, drivers will be able to lock and unlock their car, control settings, set heater timings, and locate it in car parks.
The technology will be compatible with iPad and a Windows Phone app with voice control through Cortana - as well as the Apple Watch and Android Wear - and it will also have enhanced ‘send-to-car’ capabilities for navigation.
The Volvo On Call app has been completely redesigned for this update and is based on the Sensus infotainment system found in the new Volvo XC90.
