Toyota has previewed a new racing version of its FT-1 concept car, which will be available to download in the Gran Turismo 6 video game.
The latest model to be revealed as part of the Vision Gran Turismo project - part of celebrations for the franchise's 15th anniversary - the racing FT-1 is an evolution of the concept car revealed at the Detroit motor show earlier this year.
Inspired by classic Toyota designs including the Supra, the Future Toyota 1 concept is powered by a conventional combustion engine with no hybrid elements. Officials wouldn't be drawn on specifics when the car was unveiled, only saying it would be "high output".
From the short preview video, we can see the racing FT-1 will include new aerodynamic bodywork, manufacturer decals, ventilated wheel arches and a large rear spoiler. The model was designed by Toyota's Calty studio in California.
Other recent entries in the Vision Gran Turismo project include Nissan's Concept 2020 and the Aston Martin DP100, both of which made their debuts at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this summer.
