Ahead of the L.A. auto show, Toyota is expanding its Nightshade Special Edition models to include the Camry and Highlander. It has also teased two additions to its TRD lineup.
Both Nightshade Special Editions receive black exterior accents on the spoiler, door handles, mirror caps, and other areas. Black 18-inch wheels are fitted to the Camry, while the Highlander gets black 19-inch wheels.
The 2019 Toyota Camry Nightshade Special Edition will offer black, silver, and white exterior colors when it goes on sale next year. Limited to 5,000 units, the Highlander Nightshade Special Edition goes on sale in January with a choice of black, gray, red, and white. Both special editions will be contented according to their mid-level SE trims.
Both models will be on display at the L.A. auto show alongside new TRD versions of the Camry and Avalon which Toyota has teased on Twitter. From the image, we can tell the new models will receive at least a few performance upgrades, including a new front splitter. The image also hints at the possibility of improved brakes. That’s exactly what the 2019 Toyota 86 TRD Special Edition got, along with a body kit, upgraded exhaust, and a few other changes. It didn’t get a boost in power, however.
