There’s no arguing that solving a Rubik’s Cube is an enjoyable and mentally stimulating activity. Playing with the classic puzzle while driving, however, is not the smartest thing to do, as it obviously puts you and others in danger.
But that’s exactly what a woman in the U.K. did while driving her Toyota Corolla hatchback on a highway in Manchester. Macauley Stephens, who witnessed and recorded the woman, recounted his story to Manchester Evening News. According to Stephens, the woman saw him recording, but continued to fiddle with the puzzle using both hands, though it does appear she is steering with one of her pinky fingers. Stephens said he witnessed her doing this for “several more miles” after recording the incident.
“When I spotted the woman I honestly couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” he told MEN. “I was shocked more than anything. How she could concentrate while driving on a busy motorway at peak time beggars belief.”
According to the report, Stephens tweeted the video to the Greater Manchester Police department, but no charges have been filed as of yet. The BBC reached out to the police department, which said it does not investigate reports it receives via social media.
