The MY16 Jaguar XJ has been revealed, and will reach UK showrooms this Autumn, priced from £58,690.
Described as “the most dynamic, distinctive luxury saloon” available on the market, the updated XJ gets new LED headlights on the outside, new leather inside.
Key upgrades have been made to the car’s infotainment system, with the XJ now receiving Jaguar’s InControl Touch Pro service.
Joining the existing line-up is a new top-level Autobiography model, which is priced at £100,000.
Available only in long-wheelbase form, it features new 20-inch alloy wheels, quilted leather seats, illuminated stainless steal treadplates, individual rear seats and a bespoke rear entertainment system
Also new to the range is an R-Sport model. Priced from £71,625, it receives minor bodywork upgrades, including a rear spoiler, and sports seats and bespoke trim inside.
The XJ’s 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine has also been upgraded to produce 296bhp, and offers lower CO2 emissions than the current model, at 149g/km. The car’s 5.0-litre V8 option remains the same as before, as does the higher-powered 335bhp V6 engine.
Joining the upgraded engine range is a new electric power steering system, which the company says “enhances Jaguar’s reputation for unrivalled agility and responsiveness”.
Line director for the XJ Ian Hoban said: “More dynamic and distinctive than ever, we've engineered our flagship saloon even greater levels of luxury and performance.”
