Eyebrows were raised on the RS3 launch when Audi promised the car would do sideways excitement as well as Quattro four-wheel-driven stability.
And then they stopped anyone from switching the ESP off to find out of this was true.
No matter. There were no such restrictions in place when our colleagues at PistonHeads decided to put precision stunt-driver Mauro Calo and the car's designer, Stephan Fahr-Becker in the RS3 at Anglesey Circuit and see if it really could live up to the claim of “steering without understeering”.
