-RM Sotheby’s auction house is bringing one of the most expensive and eclectic car collections ever to Pebble Beach this August, the contents of which could make for some tough choices among the paddle-wavers in attendance.
The famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, which takes place every year in Monterey, California, is a car lover’s delight. There, one sees some of the world’s cleanest examples of classic and exotic cars, and the various auctions always offer many fine four-wheeled temptations.

One collection of cars rolling across the block at RM Sotheby’s 2015 Montery auction is so packed with high-end exotica, it seems poised to steal the show. Currently owned by one anonymous individual (we’d love to know who), RM is calling this the “Pinnacle Portfolio” due to the rarity and quality of each car in the collection. According to Reuters, RM is expecting the collection to net more than $65 million and potentially boost the total value of the company’s auction that week to over $144 million, the most ever sold in a single collector-car auction.

Some highlights of the collection are a the first production Bugatti Veyron and a McLaren F1 that has been factory converted to LeMans spec (one of two such cars)—which alone is expected to pull in over $12 million. There’s also a 2008 Koenigsegg CCXR, a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Alloy, and an unrestored Toyota 2000GT, along with a gaggle of rare Ferraris.

And then there’s the 400th Ferrari Enzo. This is the last Enzo ever built, which was gifted by Ferrari to Pope John Paul II. This unique Enzo brought $1.2 million the first time it was sold by RM back in 2005. We’re guessing this raddest-ever Popemobile will do even better this time.
