At Car and Driver, we seldom have occasion to channel our inner Joan Rivers—some of us could be said to have an outer Joan Rivers, too, but that’s another story—and talk about the world of haute couture, but we kinda can’t not talk about it here. We mean, look at these pictures. Can we talk?
-Behold the “Wraith—Inspired by Fashion.” Yes, that’s its name. And these campy pictures are official Rolls-Royce shots taken at the Home of Rolls-Royce (yes, that’s its name, too) in Goodwood on the actual Rolls-Royce catwalk, er, assembly line. Not sure if those are actual Rolls-Royce assembly-line workers, but in any case, they look like they’re really, um, working hard.
- -Like the stately black Phantom Drophead Coupe Nighthawk Edition, the Wraith—Inspired by Fashion showcases of the artistic aptitudes of Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke design studio, and, for what it’s worth, appears to be reasonably chic in execution. The two-tone gloss-white over metallic-white paint scheme is simple enough and makes the Wraith’s heaps of chrome and polished 21s look a bit less ostentatious. The interior is rendered in white over black, accented tastefully with small splashes of color—ahem, colour—on the doors, seats, and steering wheel that correspond to a thin pinstripe on the hood. As for that accent color, you can have it in any hue you want as long as it’s “Jasmine” (greenish-yellow), purple, or red. Any other color and it wouldn’t be “Inspired by Fashion.”

Want one? Now’s the time to meet with your nearest Rolls-Royce commissioner, and, according to our sources at Rolls-Royce, you shouldn’t expect much change from your $365,000 bill. No one ever said four-wheeled fashion statements would ever come cheap.
