Mazda's 787B will be taking on the Goodwood hillclimb
The motoring extravaganza will return to the Goodwood Estate in June next year, with Mazda taking centre stage
Mazda will take centre stage at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this summer, as the Japanese brand presents the iconic statue in front of Goodwood house and showcases its vehicle line-up.
As the ‘featured brand’ for the 2015 event, Mazda will be showing off road and racing models from its classic collection, while the firm’s current range - including the new CX3, the MX-5 and Mazda 2, will also be on display.
Models already confirmed by Mazda include the Le Mans-winning 787B, which will be taking on the famous Goodwood hillclimb.
The central statue, a focal point for the Festival of Speed, has been created by artist Gerry Judah.
The theme of the 2015 Festival of Speed is “Flat-out and Fearless: Racing on the Edge”, something which festival founder Lord Charles March says “aligns perfectly with Mazda’s continual push to reject engineering conventions and strive for something unique.”
The Festival of Speed will run between 25-28 June, and also includes the Moving Motor Show - which gives the public a first glimpse at new production cars.
Highlights from the 2014 event included the launch of the new Elemental RP1, our ride in a Hyundai i20 rally car, and driving a 350bhp Ariel Atom 3.5R up the hill. See more pictures from this year's Festival of Speed here.
Dates for the Goodwood Revival have also been set, with the retro-themed weekend returning to the Goodwood circuit on 11-15 September.
