It’s not often we get a documentary about sports car racing, let alone an entire series, so Amazon’s upcoming show Le Mans: Racing is Everything has us excited. The limited series follows six teams contesting the 24 Hours of Le Mans and begins streaming for Amazon Prime Video subscribers on June 9.
The series goes behind the scenes of one of the world’s most challenging and prestigious races by embedding camera crews in the garages of Porsche, Audi, Nissan, Toyota, Aston Martin, and Rebellion Racing. Judging by the trailer, which shows the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO, this series must’ve been shot during the 2015 Le Mans race. Featured drivers include former F1 driver Mark Webber, three-time Le Mans champion André Lotterer, Nico Prost, and Jann Mardenborough, who won his spot on the Nissan LMP1 team through the Nissan GT Academy video game driver search.
The documentary series is the product of Emmy-nominated director James Erskine and producer Victoria Gregory, best known for the documentary films Man on Wire and Senna. The series will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video for Amazon Prime subscribers. Check out the trailer for Le Mans: Racing is Everything below.
