2017 Subaru BRZ Priced Starting From $26,315

Subaru has announced pricing for the refreshed 2017 BRZ sport coupe. The base Premium model starts at $26,315 including destination, representing a $125 increase compared to the outgoing 2016 model. Standard features include Subaru’s Starlink multimedia interface with a 6.2-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, a rearview camera, LED headlights and taillights, LED daytime running lights, a rear spoiler, hill start assist, 17-inch alloy wheels, and steering wheel-mounted audio, cruise control, and phone controls.

Moving up to the Limited trim adds LED fog lights, heated front seats, keyless entry, push-button start, seats upholstered in Alcantara and leather, and a 4.2-inch LCD display. A Performance package is now offered on the Limited trim when equipped with the standard six-speed manual transmission, which adds Sachs performance shock absorbers, 17-inch black alloy wheels, and Brembo brakes on all four corners. A six-speed automatic is optional on the BRZ but only on the Limited trim starting at $29,565.

Finally, the BRZ Series.Yellow will be the range-topping variant but it will be limited to only 500 units. The Series.Yellow comes standard with the Performance package and features unique touches such as a yellow BRZ logo, yellow contrast stitching, and a bright yellow exterior color.

Under the hood is the same 2.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-four but it now makes 205 hp and 156 lb-ft of torque when equipped with the standard six-speed manual gearbox. Automatic-equipped BRZs, however, don’t receive the upgraded engine and can’t be had with the Performance package. Despite the presence of the dead spot in the middle of the car’s rev range, Subaru says that there’s 7 percent more torque between 3,000 to 4,000 rpm. The car’s final drive ratio is also shorter at 4.3:1, which should yield slightly better acceleration. Thanks to a new steering calibration and a revised suspension, the BRZ now handles better than ever.
