For the first time, Toyota is showing off the interior design of its C-HR compact crossover. The new model hits global markets later this year, and it should arrive in the U.S. by spring 2017.
The Toyota C-HR interior offers a variety of different surfaces, including piano black and satin silver accents. A bold dash of color runs through the doors and up the dashboard to break up the dark colors. Leather-like surfaces mix with smooth Nappa grain for a layered look; the seats get a two-tone design with a slender, supporting upper section and a bolstered lower section. The C-HR will be available in three color schemes: Dark Grey, Black/Brown, and Black/Blue.
An 8-inch touchscreen sits upright above the dashboard like on certain Audi and Mercedes models. The infotainment system features enhanced connected services and Toyota’s new navigation platform for 2016. Closer to the driver, the instrument cluster shows off a circular design theme showing speed, fuel, and charging information. Note: These new pictures show the hybrid C-HR coming to the European market.
We don’t know much about the C-HR destined for the U.S., as Toyota hasn’t revealed the powertrain lineup. But don’t expect to see the same 122-hp 1.8-liter gas-hybrid or the 115-hp 1.2-liter turbo four that will be available in other markets.
