Edwards wins at Sonoma
SONOMA, CA (TheSpread) – Carl Edwards found a way to navigate the road course at Sonoma on Sunday and earn a win in the Toyota/Save Mart 350.
A caution late in the race led to a restart, which Edwards was able to take advantage of. From there he held off Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jamie McMurray to get the win.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv , Edwards had 35/1 odds to win this race, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $3,500.
Edwards is now in sixth place, 71 points out of first, following his win. Gordon retains his spot atop the standings with his runner-up finish. He now leads Jimmie Johnson by 20, after Johnson placed seventh.
