Citroën has begun its year-long celebration of the 60th anniversary of the DS with a display at the inaugural London Classic Car Show.
Bek Hassan, brand director of Citroën/DS, said: "The classic DS reaches an incredible landmark year in 2015. As we celebrate 60 years of DS – which it’s fair to say has helped shape modern day motoring – it seems very fitting for us to start a year of celebrations at the London Classic Car Show."
The display comprises of two classic DS21s – a 1972 Prestige and a rare 1966 Décapotable with coachwork by Henri Chapron – and a DS3 and a DS5 from the modern range.
A parade of DS models will also be taking to the show's 'Grand Avenue' throughout the weekend. This line-up features the DS5 used by President Hollande at his inauguration, an ID21 Safari, a DS Group V rally prototype and an ID19.
Citroën says that over 500,000 of the new DSs have been sold worldwide since the revival of the brand in 2008 – with UK DS sales accounting for almost 95,000 of that total.
The show is open to the public now, and closes on Sunday 11 January.
